As part of a collaborative project between multiple colleges, I was in charge of the identity of a team responding to the issue of peak oil. The term "After Petroleum", along with the colors, informed the viewer that the future would be clean and possible.
the arizona housing alliance, an upstart company, asked our class to help improve their business and communication to their clients. i submitted two logomarks- the first being an approach geared more towards 'housing', and the second being more associated with the visual imagery of arizona.
"double propeller" is a fictional company that was part of a school project that was a practice in combinig two random type characters and making a logo form. the secondary form is an abstract image of two propellers and acts as a secondary logo to the fictional company.
contacted to make a logo for shalimar dental health, I provided the following work. The image is of an abstract form of reed grass, which went well with the term "shalimar" and mental images of what a dental office should be- calming and soothing.
i have always been a firm believer, in design, that less is more. if someone can design an effective logo without making it overly complex, but yet still carrying meaning and purpose, then that is an effective piece of identity. it is the job of the designer to commubnicate visually to their audeince, and i have felt that works out best with simple, yet effective communication.
